Step-by-step guide

Learn how to use Zi-Chat: registration, profile, subscriptions, chat, video and audio rooms, and Creator Studio. Select a topic on the left or use the search bar to filter tutorials.

Registration
  • To register, click on the "Get started" button (See image 1) and next click on the "Standard user" button. (See image 2)
  • Fill in all the fields. All fields are mandatory, except those related to the newsletter and your sponsor's referral link (in the "Sponsorship" section). If a field turns red, it means it is incorrect. When it turns green, it is correct. (See image 3)
  • Once all the fields on a slide are filled, click on the "Next" button to proceed to the next step.
  • In the "Sponsorship" section, enter your sponsor's referral link if you have one. Otherwise, leave this field blank.
  • In the final step, make sure to check the "Terms and Conditions (T&Cs)" box, otherwise, you will not be able to complete your registration. Once checked, click on the "Submit Registration" button to validate your registration. (See image 4)
  • You will then be redirected to the homepage with a message prompting you to check your email, as a verification link has been sent to you. The email is sent instantly, so if you don't see it, remember to check your spam/junk folder. (See image 5)
  • In the email, you will find a link that redirects you to Zi-Chat. (See image 6)
  • Once on the page, you will see a field where you need to enter your email address.
    Enter your email address, validate it, and your account will then be verified. You will be redirected to the login page. (See image 7)

Login
  • To log in, click on the "Log in" button (See image 1) and next click on the "Standard user" button. (See image 2)
  • Fill in the Email field with the address you used during registration, enter your password, and then click "Login". (See image 3)
  • Once the form is submitted, an email containing a 6-digit code will be sent to your inbox (note that the code is valid for 5 minutes). Enter this code in the designated field and click "Verify". (See image 4)
  • At your first login, and every 30 days, you will be asked to choose a 6-digit code to make logging in easier. (see image 5)
  • Then enter your email and password again, then validate them (See image 3), and finally enter your personal 6-digit code, and click the “Submit” button. (see image 6)
  • After clicking "Submit", you will be logged in and redirected to the Reals page.

Finalise the Registration
  • To complete your registration, go to the "Service" section at the top of the page, then click on the "Dashboard" link.
  • In the Dashboard, click the "Finalize the registration" button. (See image 1)
  • Fill in the fields on each slide. If a field is valid, it will be marked in green; otherwise, it will be red. Click "Next" to move to the next slide. (See image 2)
  • In the "Identification" section, make sure that the identification code (ID card, driver’s license, passport) is correct.
  • Upload the front side and then the back side of your ID card, then click "Next". (See image 3)
  • Please note that ID cards are not stored. Once the identification is validated, they will be automatically deleted.
  • Finally, on the last slide, fill in the required fields and click the "Validate the registration" button. (See image 4)
  • You will then be redirected to the homepage with a message confirming that your registration has been successfully completed.

Change Your Profile Photo
  • To change your profile photo: Go to your Profile page and click the profile photo button (1) at the bottom-left corner of your current photo. (See Image 1)
  • In the panel that opens: Click "Choose File" (2) to select a new image. (See Image 2)
  • Final step: Click "Upload" (3) to apply your new profile photo immediately. (See Image 3)

Change my information
  • To update your information: Go to your Profile page and click the information button (1). (See Image 1)
  • Next: Click the edit button (pencil icon) (2) next to the information you want to modify. (See Image 2)
  • Then: Update the information with new data (3) and validate with the check button (4). (See Image 3)
  • To change visibility: Check either public or private (5) depending on your preference. (See Image 4)

Subscription
  • To view your subscription, start by navigating to "Services" (1), then click on "Dashboard" (2). Next, click on "My Subscription" (3). You will then see your current subscription type, the subscription start date, and the last 3 invoices if they are available.
  • To subscribe, click on the "Change My Subscription" button (4). (See Image 1).
  • After clicking on the "Change My Subscription" button, you will land on the subscription selection page. Choose the one that suits you by clicking the "I Subscribe" button corresponding to your choice. (See Image 2).
  • You will then arrive on a page displaying the transaction details (1). The VAT will be calculated based on your country or state.
  • To cancel and choose a different subscription, click on "Return" (2). Otherwise, to proceed, click on "Continue" (3). (See Image 3).
  • Once on the payment form, (See Image 4), fill in all the fields, then click on "Confirm Payment" to validate the first step. You will be redirected to another form where you will need to re-enter your details and validate them for security reasons. (See Image 5).
  • You will then be redirected to the success page. On this page, you can see the subscription details on the right (1) and the invoice details on the left (2), including its identification number and the total amount with all taxes. You can access your complete invoice from your dashboard by clicking the "Return to the Dashboard" button (3). (See Image 6).

Real
Create a real
  • To create a "Real", once you're logged in, go to "Home", then click the "Add Reals" button. (See Image 1)
  • Content: Add a title (1), choose a category (2), write your description (3), select how you want to add media (4), then upload or browse your file (5). (See Image 2)
  • Customization: Set visibility (6), pick a font (7), and choose a background (8). Click "Publish Real" (9) when you're ready. (See Image 2)
  • Preview: The area marked (10) shows the preview of your Real; it is not a step. (See Image 2)

Create a multi-real
  • To create a "Real", once you're logged in, go to "Home", then click the "Add Reals" button. (See Image 1)
  • From the Create Real page, click "Multi Real" to open the multi-real creator. (See Image 2)
  • Start with the basics: enter a title (1), add a description (2), and choose a category (3). (See Image 3)
  • Optional: set a publication date (4), pick the global text font (5), and choose a background (6). (See Image 3)
  • Build each zone: select a zone tab (7), add a zone title (8), and write fixed text with the formatting tools (9).(See Image 3)
  • Add up to three images for the active zone (10).(See Image 3)
  • Use Preview/Publish/Reset (11) when you're ready. For more information, see "?".(See Image 3)

Like/dislike
  • You can like (1) or dislike (2) any real. You can also dislike(2) the “Real” as a whole, or simply appreciate the shared media (2) any real. You can also dislike(3). (See Image)

Comment on a real
  • To comment on a real and share your opinion, click the "Comment" button. (See Image 1)
  • Write your message, add emojis or a GIF, then click "Comment". (See Image 2)
  • You can like or dislike a comment (1), reply to a comment (2), or add a new comment (3). (See Image 3)
  • If you posted a comment or a reply, you can delete it by clicking the "X" (4). Be careful: deleting a comment also deletes any replies attached to it. (See Image 3)
  • If you are the creator of a "Real", you can delete another user's comment or reply by clicking the "X" (4). Be careful: deleting a comment also deletes any replies attached to it. (See Image 3)

Make a donation
  • To donate to the creator of a "Real", click the "Zi-coin" icon. (See Image 1)
  • You can see your Zi-coin balance in real time (1). Click a preset amount or choose a custom amount (2), then press "Send" to make your donation. (See Image 2)
  • You and the creator will receive a confirmation email with the donation receipt attached. (See Image 3)
  • Save and keep your receipt; it serves as proof of payment. (See Image 4)

Share a real link
  • To share a "Real" link and post it anywhere, click the "Link" button. (See Image 1)
  • To copy the link, click "Copy" (1). The link will be saved to your clipboard so you can paste it anywhere. We also provide quick shortcuts to other social networks (2) to make sharing easier. (See Image 2)

Translate a real
  • To translate a "Real", click the translation button. (See Image 1)
  • Translation is automatic: it detects the original language and translates it into your language in real time. (See Image 2)

Chat
  • To access the chat, go to the "Service" section and click on the "Chat" button. (See Image 1)
  • Once on the page, select one of your contacts and click the button to the left of their profile picture to start a chat with them (1). (See Image 2)
  • The button (2) allows you to view your contact's profile page.
  • The "Chat" button (3) gives you access to the list of ongoing conversations, while the "Add a Contact" button (4) lets you add a new contact.
  • If you click on the "Add a Contact" button, a panel will open on the right. (See Image 3) Enter the email address of the contact you want to add (1), then click the "Search" button (2). The search result (3) will appear just below. Select a category (4), then click "Send Contact Request" (5) to send the invitation. Once the recipient accepts the invitation (via email), they will automatically appear in your contact list.

Video Rooms
Create a Video Room
  • To create a video room, go to the Chat page. In the left panel, click on "Start a room" (1). (See Image 1)
  • In the panel that opens on the right, click on "Standard" (2). (See Image 1)
  • Enter the maximum number of participants allowed in the room and set an optional password (3). (See Image 1)
  • Click "Start a video call" (4) to launch the room. (See Image 1)

Room Interface
  • The video room interface consists of 4 main parts:
    1. At the top center: The navigation bar (1) (See Image 2)
    2. Centered on the page: The video display area showing participants' videos (2) (See Image 2)
    3. At the bottom of the screen: The chat area for sending text messages and files (3) (See Image 2)
    4. In the top left corner: The control panel button (4) that opens the left-side panel (See Image 2)

Navigation Bar
  • The navigation bar contains 7 buttons:
    1. Hang up button - Ends the call for everyone (1) (See Image 3)
    2. Screen sharing button - Share your screen (choose which screen in your browser) (2) (See Image 3)
    3. Recording button - Start/stop recording the session (all participants are notified) (3) (See Image 3)
    4. Screenshot button - Take a screenshot of the current screen (4) (See Image 3)
    5. Microphone control - Mute/unmute your microphone (5) (See Image 3)
    6. Camera control - Enable/disable your camera (6) (See Image 3)
    7. Customization button - Opens a panel to change colors and background of the page (7) (See Image 3)
  • The video display area shows up to 4 videos per row. Each video box includes:
    • Profile photo in the top left corner (1)
    • Username and email in the top right corner (2)
    • Audio spectrum visualization at the bottom (3)

Control Panel
  • The left control panel (opened via the top-left button) contains:
    1. Invite contacts button - Invite contacts to the room (1) (See Image 4)
    2. Copy room link button - Copy the room link to invite others (2) (See Image 4)
    3. Video background input - Add a video behind your camera feed (3) (See Image 4)
    4. Device selectors - Change your microphone or camera (4) (See Image 4)
    5. Mask/background buttons - Open modals to choose masks or backgrounds for your video (5) (See Image 4)
    6. Video filter selector - Apply filters to your video (sepia, black & white, etc.) (6) (See Image 4)
    7. Audio spectrum color selector - Change color of your audio spectrum (7) (See Image 4)
    8. Audio spectrum style selector - Choose style of audio spectrum (bars, lines, etc.) (8) (See Image 4)
    9. Audio filter selector - Change your voice with audio filters (9) (See Image 4)

Invite Contacts
  • To invite contacts to the video room, click the "Invite contacts" button in the control panel (1). (See Image 5)
  • A modal window will open. Select the contacts you want to invite by checking the checkboxes (2). (See Image 5)
  • Click the "Send" button (3) to send the invitations. (See Image 5)
  • You can also use the "Copy room link" button to get a shareable link that you can send anywhere.

Customization
  • Click the customization button (7th button in navigation bar) to open the customization modal. (See Image 6)
  • Background selector - Change the page background (black, blue, or white image) (1) (See Image 6)
  • Color selectors - Choose primary, secondary, and tertiary colors, plus text colors and button hover shadows (2) (See Image 6)
  • Container styling - Adjust container border radius and border thickness (3) (See Image 6)
  • Transparency effects - Set the blur intensity for transparent containers (4) (See Image 6)
  • All changes are applied in real-time. To revert to original settings, click the "Reset" button (5). (See Image 6)

Chat Features
  • The chat area at the bottom of the screen includes:
    1. Show/hide chat button - Toggle chat visibility (1) (See Image 8)
    2. File attachment button - Send files (text, images, videos, etc.) (2) (See Image 8)
    3. Text input area - Type messages to send (3) (See Image 8)
    4. Message display area - Shows received messages (left) and sent messages (right) (4) (See Image 8)
    5. Emoji button - Opens emoji panel (click to add emojis to your message) (5) (See Image 8)
    6. Send button - Send typed message (also works with Enter key) (6) (See Image 8)
    7. Fullscreen chat button - Toggle chat to fullscreen mode (7) (See Image 8)

Create a Audio room
  • To create a audio room, start by clicking "Start a call" (1) from the chat page. (See Image 1)
  • Then, click the "Create a audio room" button to display the creation form (2).
  • Enter the maximum number of participants allowed in the room and optionally set a password (3).
  • Click "Start a audio call" to launch the room (4).

Invite a contact to a audio room
  • To invite a contact to a audio room, start by clicking "Invite contact" (1) from the chat page. (See Image 1)
  • After clicking the button, a window will open. Select the contacts you want to invite (2) and click the "Send" button (3) to send the invitations.
  • You will receive a message indicating the status of the invitation.

Join a room
  • To join an audio or video room:
    1. Click on "Start a call" (1) from the chat page. (See Image 1)
    2. Then click on the "Join a room" (2) button.
    3. Enter the room name (3) using the code received via message (4).
    4. Provide the password (5) on the next page.
    5. Click on "Reach the room" (6) to submit the form.
  • Once on the new page:
    1. Enter the password received in the field (1), then click on "Enter" (2). (See Image 2)
    2. You will arrive at a page indicating if there are available spots in the room. (See Image 3)
      • If spots are available, click on "Enter the audio/video room" to join.
      • If no spots are available, you will be redirected to the chat page.

Creator Studio, add a background
  • To add a background, click on the gear button (See Image 1)
  • In the panel that opens, click on "Add a background" (See Image 2)
  • Fill in all the fields (1) then confirm the addition by clicking on the "CONFIRM" button (2) (See Image 3)

Creator Studio, Add a Mask
  • To add a mask, click on the gear button (See Image 1)
  • In the panel that opens, click on "Add a mask" (See Image 2)
  • Fill in all the fields (1) then confirm the addition by clicking on the "CONFIRM" button (2) (See Image 3)

Creator studio, test & setting
  • Click the "Test & Setting" button (1) on the Creator Studio page to start adjusting the mask. (See Image 1)
  • Optionally select a background and choose the mask by clicking the corresponding button (2).
  • Use the "Landmark" selector (3) to set the starting position of the mask.
  • Adjust the mask’s proportions and position using the provided positioning sliders (4).
  • Click the "SAVE SETTING" button at the bottom to save your changes.

User QR-Code
  • In the profile page, below the current QR-Code (1), click on "edit QR" (2) to access the QR-Code management page. (See Image 1)
  • On the management page: The current QR-Code is displayed (3). Next to it is the customization panel where you choose the background color and QR color with selectors (4). (See Image 2)
  • You can add a logo to the QR-Code by selecting an image (5), choose its position (watermark or overlay) and set the logo height and width using the selectors below the file selector (6).
  • Further below: Choose the quality via the selector (7) and the format you want (PNG, SVG, PDF) (8). (See Image 2)
  • In the panel below the customization panel: Once all customizations are chosen, click "create" to generate the QR-Code (9). (See Image 3)
  • The preview of the new QR-Code appears (10). You can save the new QR-Code with the "edit" button (11) or download it with the "download" button (12). (See Image 3)

User preferences
  • User preferences are used to indicate your centers of interest: video games, cars, cooking, etc. These preferences appear as a colored ring around your profile photo on your profile page (1). (See Image 1)
  • To modify your preferences, go to your Profile page and click on the "Preferences" button (2) in the top section. (See Image 1)
  • In the preferences panel, you will see several cards representing different interest categories. To activate a preference, check the box in the top-left corner of the card (3). If unchecked, the preference will not be counted in your profile ring. (See Image 2)
  • For each activated preference, adjust the intensity level using the slider (4) from 1 to 10, according to your interest level. The update is automatic when you move the slider. (See Image 2)
  • In the top-right corner of each card, a small badge (5) indicates whether the preference is active or inactive. This helps you quickly see which interests are currently selected for your profile ring. (See Image 2)
  • The colored ring around your profile photo (1) updates automatically to reflect your current preferences. Each color segment represents a different interest category with its intensity level. (See Image 1)

Affiliation Link
Copy your referral link
  • To access your referral link, go to your Profile page and click on the "Overview" button (1) in the About section. (See Image 1)
  • In the left section titled "My referral link", your personal affiliation link is displayed (1). (See Image 2)
  • To copy your link, click the "Copy" button (2) next to the link field. The link will be copied to your clipboard automatically. (See Image 2)
  • You can now paste your referral link anywhere to invite others to join Zi-Chat. Each successful registration through your link will be tracked in your statistics.

Manage your sponsor
  • To manage your sponsor, go to your Profile page, click "Overview" (1), then look at the right section titled "My sponsor". (See Image 1)
  • You can change your sponsor once per month maximum. In the sponsor section, enter the new sponsor's affiliation link in the input field (1). (See Image 3)
  • After entering the link, click the "Verify" button (2). The system will check if the link exists and if you have permission to change sponsors. (See Image 3)
  • The verification result will appear below the input field (3). If successful, you'll see a confirmation message. (See Image 3)
  • If everything is correct, click the "Change" button (4) to proceed. (See Image 3)
  • A confirmation modal will open. Review the change details, then click "Confirm" to accept or "Cancel" (1) to abort the change. (See Image 4)
  • Important: You can only change your sponsor once every 30 days. Make sure you have the correct affiliation link before confirming.

Profile Page
Profile Header
  • The main header block contains your profile photo with the colored preference ring (1) on the left. (See Image 1)
  • To the left of the photo, the "Share" button (2) allows you to invite users via email and social networks using your affiliation link (for users not yet on Zi-Chat). (See Image 1)
  • On the right side, you'll find your QR-Code and below it the button to create/edit/download your QR-Code (3). (See Image 1)
  • Below the header, there's a row of 4 blocks showing from left to right: number of posts made, number of following, number of followers, and number of active preferences (4). (See Image 1)
  • Under the main header block, a navigation bar allows you to switch between different sections: Overview, Information, Subscription, Preference, Network, Contact, Purchased (5). (See Image 1)

Overview Section
  • The Overview section allows you to modify your presentation text (1). (See Image 2)
  • You can copy your affiliation link using the copy button (2). (See Image 2)
  • Modify your sponsor (referrer) using the sponsor management section (3). (See Image 2)
  • View pending invitations you've sent via your affiliation link (4). (See Image 2)

Information Section
  • Modify your personal information: name, surname, phone number, etc. (1). (See Image 3)
  • Set your account to private or public (prevents or allows profile search on the site) (2). (See Image 3)
  • Choose whether to receive newsletters by email (3). (See Image 3)
  • Change your account password via the "Change Password" button (4). (See Image 3)

Subscription Section
  • Two blocks: The left block shows your current subscription (1). (See Image 4)
  • Click "Upgrade My Subscription" to switch to a higher subscription plan (2). (See Image 4)
  • The right block displays invoices for subscriptions taken (3). (See Image 4)

Preferences Section
  • Contains user preferences (video games, fashion, cars, etc.) that modify the color ring around the profile to quickly identify similarities between users. (See Image 5)
  • Activate or deactivate a preference using the toggle/checkbox (1). (See Image 5)
  • See at a glance if a preference is active or not via the status indicator (2). (See Image 5)

Network Section
  • Displays either your followers (1) or your following (2) depending on which button you click. (See Image 6)

Contact Section
  • Displays the list of users you have as contacts (1). (See Image 7)
  • Filter the display between: all contacts, those with your affiliation link, and those without your affiliation link using the buttons in the top-right corner (2). (See Image 7)

Purchased Section
  • Displays items purchased on Zi-Chat (masks, backgrounds, etc.) (1). (See Image 8)
  • See if items are resellable or not via the button at the bottom of each article (2). (See Image 8)
  • Filter display by type using the buttons in the top-right corner (3). (See Image 8)
  • Find invoices for purchased items in the block below the articles display (4). (See Image 8)
